Historical judgment interest rate lookup
Choose a supported jurisdiction and date to retrieve the exact recorded annual rate, effective period, official source, and downloadable history. The tool refuses dates outside verified coverage rather than substituting today’s rate.
Find the recorded rate for a judgment date
This lookup identifies the rate recorded for a supported jurisdiction and date. It does not decide whether that rate applies to a particular judgment or calculate interest.

- Requested date
- Recorded period began

Reference lookup only—not legal advice or a payoff calculation. Contract rates, claim type, judgment amount, debtor type, special statutes, and the exact entry or accrual event can change the controlling rule. Confirm the result against the linked authority.
Why a historical lookup matters
A current percentage is often the wrong answer for an older judgment. Texas assigns a rate by judgment month, while Alaska, Maine, and Utah select annual periods and Iowa publishes dated court-table selections. This tool searches the stored official history for the period covering the date you enter; it never applies a later value retroactively.
What this tool does—and does not decide
- It identifies a recorded period rate. The result includes the period start, official source, full rate page, and CSV history.
- It does not calculate a payoff. Accrual date, principal, interest-bearing costs, compounding, partial payments, and end-date treatment remain separate questions.
- It does not choose a legal branch. A contract, claim type, judgment size, debtor category, or another statute can supply a different rate.
- It fails closed. Dates before the verified history or after the current data snapshot are rejected instead of estimated.
Why these five jurisdictions are available first
Each released series has a reviewed official history and a rule that selects a rate by a judgment or calendar period. Other states remain available as current reference pages, but they will not appear in this lookup until their historical coverage and selection rule are complete enough to support an old-date answer without guessing.
