Idaho’s current post-judgment rate is 8.875%. Idaho Code §28-22-104(2) sets the rate at five percentage points above the State Treasurer’s one-year Treasury base rate in effect when judgment is entered. The Treasurer publishes one selection for each July-to-June fiscal year, and the dataset preserves all 41 published selections beginning with fiscal year 1987.

How Idaho post-judgment interest works

Which rate applies

Section 28-22-104(2) supplies the statutory rate for judgments. Idaho appellate authority describes that judgment rate as mandatory and applicable to all judgments; subsection (1)’s written-contract language concerns interest due before judgment and should not be presented as a general post-judgment exception.

When interest accrues

The entry date selects the Treasurer’s July-to-June rate in force at that time. The current statute and decisions reviewed establish that selection rule, but a judgment’s precise accrual event and any special judgment treatment still must be checked against the controlling order and law.

Compounding and rate lock

The official sources reviewed do not establish one universal compounding, day-count, or partial-payment method for every Idaho judgment. StatuteRates therefore publishes the verified rate history but keeps a payoff calculator disabled rather than assume those mechanics.

Official history coverage

The official State Treasurer schedule contains 41 continuous fiscal-year selections from July 1, 1986 through the current published period. Historical values are copied from that table, not recomputed from market data.
