For judgments entered in 2026, Alaska’s general pre- and post-judgment interest rate is 6.75% under AS 09.30.070(a). The formula is three percentage points above the 12th Federal Reserve District discount rate in effect on January 2 of the judgment year. A contract or another statute can supply a different rate.

Which rate applies
The 6.75% headline is the general AS 09.30.070(a) path for a judgment entered in 2026. Use a contract rate when the contract controls, or the rate in another applicable statute; Alaska Courts lists child support, bank liquidation, eminent domain, and estate claims as examples of separate statutes.
When interest accrues
Alaska Courts states that post-judgment interest begins on the date the judge signs the judgment. The annual rate selected for that judgment does not change while an unpaid balance or payment plan continues into later years.
Compounding and rate lock
The official rate table establishes the annual percentage and rate lock, but it does not state every day-count, compounding, partial-payment, or allocation rule needed for a dependable payoff calculator. StatuteRates therefore keeps the Alaska calculator disabled.
