Statutory basis & carve-outs. Act 2011-521 changed Alabama’s general non-contract judgment rate to 7.5% for judgments entered on or after September 1, 2011. A judgment based on a contract action uses the rate stated in the contract. Accrual, compounding, day count, payments, and special-judgment branches remain calculator-withheld.
